In May 2025, a group of adventure cyclists, the Big Cogs, set out to ride from Highburton in West Yorkshire to Hull then on to The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany and back to Yorkshire covering over 850 miles in 12 days with approximately 25,000 feet of climbing.

The spectacular looped route across six countries passes through some of Europe’s most famous cycling regions, starting with the 70+ mile ride to the UK’s east coast to catch the overnight ferry to Rotterdam.

The Big Cogs are raising money for two very worthy and notable Charities – The Kirkwood Hospice and Mind.
