This could Rotterdam…..
10:30 am we stopped at the roadside to remember our good mate Eddie who’s funeral was this morning and our thoughts were with Katie and family. We had a minutes silence at the road side. And the sun came out briefly too.
After getting off the ferry you could tell from the get go that the cycling infrastructure in Holland is very well done – it’s been a joy so far to cycle and cycling over here.
First van stop for munchies was in Battenoord. So far it is absolutely beautiful, it really is amazing on this country’s cycle paths.
Continuing our journey through the Netherlands we’ve arrived at De Huiskamer van Wouw which is a lovely little cafe in the town called Wouw.
It’s pleasure so far cycling here with no aggressive drivers over here, in fact they are very courteous, unlike the uk.
Leaving the cafe made great progress driving on the flat lands towards Antwerp. We progressed round the ring road which was absolutely manic but in a good way.
Then called for a cheeky beer with only 6 miles to go.
We then had a great evening at the Het Nanker brewery brasserie with a very large selection of excellent beverages, and some traditional Flemish stew, beautiful!
